FLAGGED
10 flags. Once a day.
FLAGGED is a daily geography game for iPhone. Every day you get the same ten country flags as everyone else playing that day, and you get one attempt to name them. There are 196 countries in the pool, and each day's set is balanced: three familiar flags, four moderate ones, and three hard ones.
The whole game runs offline on your device. There is no account to make, nothing to sign in to, and no internet connection required.
Open the app and tap Play. You will see a flag and answer ten of them in a row. After each answer you see whether you were right before continuing to the next flag. At the end you get your score, your time, your streak, and a full review of every flag with the correct answer.
You choose which mode the Play button starts by tapping the gear icon in the top-right corner of the home screen. Your choice is saved on your device.
Each flag comes with four country names. Tap the one you think is right. The wrong choices are picked to be plausible — flags that are genuinely easy to confuse, like Romania and Chad or Australia and New Zealand, show up as each other's decoys.
No choices. You type the country's name. The check is forgiving in the ways that matter and strict in the ways that count:
Each correct flag is worth 100 points, for a maximum of 1000. Your time is recorded when you submit your final answer, and it is shown on the result screen for your own reference — it does not change your score.
Once per day. A new set of ten flags unlocks at midnight in your device's local time zone. The set is generated from the calendar date, so everyone playing on the same date sees the same ten flags, and the same date always produces the same set.
That's the point of the game. One set of ten flags, one attempt, one score to compare — the same challenge for everyone that day. Playing on demand would make the score meaningless and would burn through the flags you haven't learned yet.
To be precise about the rule: you get one completed game per day, in either mode. Once you finish a game in Easy or Hard, that day is done and the Play button shows your result until tomorrow. If you start a game and leave the app before finishing, the game is saved and you can come back and pick up exactly where you left off, as long as it is still the same day.
Your streak is the number of consecutive local calendar days on which you completed a game. Finish today's game and today counts; finish tomorrow's and your streak becomes two, and so on. Either mode counts — Easy and Hard both keep the streak alive, and switching modes between days doesn't break it.
Miss a day and the streak resets to zero the next time you play. Your streak is shown on the home screen (the streak button in the bottom bar) and on your result screen. It is calculated from your completed games stored on your device, so it lives on that device only — it does not follow you to another iPhone, and it is not backed up to any server.
You get two hints per day, shared across the whole day rather than per question. Tap the hint control during a question to use one. What you get depends on the mode:
Hints are deterministic — the same day and the same question always produce the same hint. Using a hint does not reduce your score, but you only get two, so save them for the flags you genuinely can't place. Hints reset with the new day.
Please tell me — this is the most useful kind of report I can get, and it's easy to fix. Email support@daylor.ai with:
A screenshot of the answer review screen at the end of the game is ideal. Accepted-name gaps in Hard mode (a valid alternative or local name the game rejected) get fixed in the next update.
Two things that are working as intended and are not bugs: Kosovo is not in the game, because its country code is user-assigned and no system font renders a flag for it; and flags may look slightly different from the ones you've seen elsewhere, because FLAGGED uses the standard flag characters drawn by your iPhone's own fonts rather than its own images.
Delete the app. That's the whole procedure. Everything FLAGGED stores — your results, your streak, hint usage, any in-progress game, and your mode preference — is kept in the app's private storage on your iPhone and nowhere else. Removing the app removes all of it permanently.
There is no account to close and no data on any server, because the app never sends anything anywhere. Note that this also means deletion is permanent: reinstalling starts you at zero with no way to restore your old streak. See the privacy policy for the full details.
No. The app works completely offline, including in Airplane Mode. It makes no network requests at all.
FLAGGED is designed for iPhone. It will run on an iPad in iPhone compatibility mode, but the layout is built for iPhone screens.
FLAGGED is made by Daylor Williams, an independent developer. Bug reports, wrong or missing country names, feature ideas, and general questions all go to the same place:
If you're reporting a problem, mentioning your iPhone model and iOS version helps. Please don't include personal information in your message — it isn't needed to help you.
